So many quilts, so little time This is the quilt I want to try next. Today i will finish the border and aplique on the 4" square patch work christmas print quilt I am working on. Didn't quite take 800 squares because I did put on a border. I copied this quilt idea from Judy too. She is my inspiration.

Someone pointed out to me on my puppy dog quilt that he was short one eye. I replyed that it ws covered with his ear. But on further investigation he was short so I had to make him another eye. And it was hard because I had already finished the quilt with batting etc and I had to sew it on by hand through suade and stuffing etc. The other is the kids playing ball and playing with Charlie the dog.

Had a fun day yesterday. We took the kids to the pool ub Brooks. They have some fun stuff, a lazy river, a canoe and raft and a wave pool. It was baby Williams first time in a pool and he really seemed to like it. Then we got pizza and went to a park to eat. This park had a wonderful play ground and a litttle waterpark too so we stayed there for several hours and let the kids played. I felt good for the first time in a while when we got home. I think it was because there was finally some sun out.

Did you know that it takes over 800 4" squares to make a queen size quilt????? And that my sister Judy has the most patience of anyone I know??? When i am at her house doing quilting projects and her grandkids come wanting to learn how, she stops and gets materials for them and teaches them how to do it. Like she did at the last rasmussen reunion. And I don't have much patience, my daughters age 9 and 10 are trying to sew nine patch quilt blocks and we are having needles that keep coming unthreaded and having to unpick because the lines aren't straight, but they are both perservering. The girls go to camp this week.
