Last night we had our March party. The theme was treasure sisterhood. I took my camera but totally forgot to take pictures. We all decorated our little treasure box and we been given these jewels weeks earlier. We put each sisters name on the front and then wrote something about that sister on the back and then put it in their box. I was really excited to read mine and all the sisters were. It was a fun evening

I have finished sewing two patchwork quilt tops and one baby quilt top and mended the hem all the way around one quilt. Does quilt tops count as a finished UFO? I would guess not! After I get back from the Dominican I will tie these quilt tops and then I will have a start on christmas for this year!
I did do some laundry and house straightening. I have a scrapbook page I want to do and I finally got the embellesments for it but i don't know how to do it so I sewed. It is when Ed and I went on a dinner theatre date with two of our sons and a daughter and spouses and they wore tux's and rented a limo.
I am so excited to reaarange my house. The t.v. stand Colt built will go downstairs in the family room. If we take the christmas stuff and halloween stuff And Colts stuff outside to store( in the camper trailor) we can move the rolling shelves into the store room and the extra dressors ( we have extra now because one room has built in drawers) into the laundry room- then the old couch can also go downstairs and we can make a nicer family room. All this because when I get my new couch the livingroom is going to be sorta off limits for a lot of stuff :-)

We actually started out the day going to Drum looking at minivans. We had looked here yesterday. At Ford they didn't even take us out to look. At Dodge we drove an 2008 that had low mileage and they wanted over three thousand dollars more than the one in Hanna which was the exact same one with about the same low mileage.. So we went to look in Stettler. I had to look at some scrapbooking stuff and then we went to the 2nd hand store to see if there was anything I thought would fit how I wanted my decor to be. Love the coffee pot!!!!! And then we stopped in the Brick and looked at furniture. I have always wanted an t.v armoire that you could close ALL the doors and hide the t.v. and dvds and any extra game system that was hooked up. I saw one I really liked and then we went in the clearance part and saw the same one. I am so excited. I will post before and after pictures of my livingroom when we get it set up.
This is my find for today ( and i was thinking of Kristi as i was in the new to you store) I think it looks nicer holding my utensils than the # 10 can I was using.

I live in a old farm house and I decided to make it a "cute" farm house. This is the first step.

We also found this t.v. in the 2nd hand store. It actually is really really clear and it has the vhs and dvd player built in. And I got a stack of corelle plates.

We finallybroke down and got a lap top. Our computer was sketchy at best of times and this also had on programs that Mckenzie has been using a lot this semester in school.

We have beans and powdered milk and some of the pasta sauces. Maybe we have a better assortment than I thought . We also have powdered potatoes and we just got two cases more of powdered eggs from In Case Of.We ahve rice and oatmeal and i also got pancake mix and popcorn. Peanut buter and jam. baking powder and soda and corn startch and salt and pepper/ But I know for a fact we could not go for a month without going to the store. We did a lot of canned meat when we lived in Utah but we have ate most of it. We do have tuna and a freezer full of beef.
We do have water, and other pasta's and first aid stuff and a lot of that stuff you asked.
That is my list for today and so far I have done about 6 loads of laundry. The other ladies is folded and in bags and mine is folded and in the livingroom for kids to put away. I have done the kitchen and my bedroom and the bathroom. I am going to do the entryway next and i forgot I have to color paper jewels and put something good about a sister in our branch on each one and also send my visiting teaching cards. I did write my missionary today!
Okay thats great, I'll try to come in this week! We do have all the basics in our storage. Wheat, oil, sugar etc. We also have a wheat grinder and a generator and a wood burning stove. I also have some soups and ketchup and toothpaste, shampoos laundry soap etc. I just don'd know what i am feeling so strong about and I can't run out and buy it if I don't know?!
We got our income tax and I can go look for a newer van- but its gloomy outside so I am going to stay home and clean. It would be a good day to make bread. Lynn some questions for you and you can answer on my email if you want. jwsgramma@yahoo.com I still don't know what i am supposed to get in my storage. There are things I am adding but I don't know what the strong impression is for. Can you give me an indea what you have beyound the basics? Also we are looking for a new couch. What furniture stores in calgary are reasonable?
I'm going to have a little fun on here today and post my TO DO list. Yes sometimes I really like having a list so i feel the accomplishments as I cross it off.
1. Kitchen-the whole kitchen! floor cupboards table stove
2. Laundry- besides my own ( I was gone all saturday!) I have three large bags for another family. Not only is she suffering morning sickness- her washer is broken!
3.Entry way- I am really thankful for a large entry way with lots of coathooks but the cupboard in there makes one more place to pile stulff :-(
4.Livingroom- quick pick up and vacum. I am going to get rid of furniture when I get my new couch. Less stuff looks cleaner.
5. Bedroom- I moved my bedroom around saturday before I left to scrapbook. Now I need to clean it.
6. Bathroom
7. Find Treydon's clean clothes. Okay I wash dry and fold them and send them downstairs to be put away. Guess what-- they weren't put away!!!!!
8. My sewing craft room which also has Ta'merra's little pets and barbie dolls because I won't let them go downstairs to get lost. And there were little girls here playing while I was gone!
9. Sew or scrapbookDo you think I will get there? Depends if I skip around on the list.

We have been sick at our house. Ed was sick for several days and then I was and then Ed came home sick again on Thursday. At least when i was sick I was so sick I just slept and didn't even care what was happening to the house instead of laying on the couch feeling miserable and watching what was happening or not happening to the house. I was going to go to Utah but I was too sick.I think there was a reason I wasn't supposed to go. I felt strongly one night that I was going with money I didn't really have to buy stuff I really didn't need ( but oh I wanted it!!!) but the next day I thought ya I'll go. The next night I felt the same about not going but the next day I still planned on going and even started to pack. The next morning I was just too sick!!!!!
Yesterday and today was the first day i felt half way good at all and it was wonderful. I got the house cleaned up again and spent a lot more time in the food store room. I really feel like we need to be getting something and I want to clean and organize the room and see what that something is.
Friday nite movie at Grandma's. Well at Moms too.

My new phone

This is so Ed can have a phone. Mckenzie is really jealous but its the cheapest phone I could get.

Something else I am really excited about shopping for in the states is the missionary emporium!!!! Neat stuff for scrapbooking! Colters address is

Okay here is my room now. Thanks Kaylani for inspiring me>

Yesterday I had a day like Megan mentioned where I got so much housework done. Rooms that aren't every day like the laundry room and the food storage room along with the RS phoning and the school treasurer stuff.Today I am going to do my craft room.Did you know there is a site where you can write Colt ( a missionary) a letter and it will get printed and delivered to him the same day at the MTC for free! He is complaining that all the missionaries are getting letters from his parents except him. :-( Well he has been gone a little over a week and I have written him. Now I have Dear Eldered him too. ( that website) but really- what of interest is there to write him? How many times this week we have made multiple trips into town because of basketball etc? I am going to Utah next weekend with a friend and I'm excited to see Becky, Michael and Brendan not to say the least about the shopping! I hope to find some tops for a couple of my skirts and sunday dresses for my little girls. Yes I am still looking for them. The few dresses that i have found here are such flimsey material! And even with the dollar exchange material is still much much cheaper there. Well watch for my after picture of the craft room. - Oh by the way at the head of the bead is the bin with my jammie quilt project in.
Kaylani inspired me to post a picture of my craft-sewing room. The fancy yellow net dress on the bed is a princess dress my granddaughter wants me to fix.Note the dictionary on the chair? I wasn't sure how to spell a ord I needed in my scrapbooking.

I have been doing a lot of scrapbooking for my son. As he says it is six years worth of their life.

I wanted to scrapbook these three "little" pictures of Savanah walking and wasn't sure how to do it so it wasn't lost on a 12 by 12 page, In the middle of the night it came to me with the phrase to put on the page.

I guessI am kinda stuck on the house keeping and RS because that is what we did this weekend. It really brought some bad memories back for me when I was a young ( younger lol) mother and was so sick and my housekeeping was brought under scrutinty. How it really hurt. People couldn't see how sick I was and probably thought I was lazy. The docter told me to take it easy as not to bleed more and when I couldn't stand it and cleaned I felt like I was asking to be more sick. As I talked to the RS president ( now) she said the wonderful thing about the RS presidency was we all had differant expeirences we could bring empathy to the differant sisters.
Tashena was scrapbooking this . Fun fun!
Sadie Ann Hart is ONE!!!!!!

Boy there is a lot more to being a secretary in Relief Society than I ever dreamed. Being in a small branch probably makes it even more so. I am really excited about this calling because I am shy and although I know the sisters by name now I will get to KNOW them. Already I have changed (my humble ) opinion about some of them. Two of us went to help a sister clean her house. She is expecting and has 5 children under eight.

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

We got a phone call at our house last night and Ta'merra answered like this." Hello, he is downstairs working- have a nice mission Colt bye" click LOL It was our Elders Quorem President.
